Our celebrations span two days — a Mehndi on Friday evening, followed by the ceremony, reception and sangeet on Saturday. We'd love you to join us for as much as you can.
A mehndi is an Indian pre-wedding celebration, where henna is traditionally applied to the bride. We'll have henna available for all and some relaxed Indian music.

10Drewsteignton sits in the Teign valley in Devon's Dartmoor National Park, a picturesque corner of England's south west.
From London, take the M4/M5 or the M3/A303/A30 westbound, in both cases joining the A30 from Exeter. Exit the A30 at Cheriton Bishop and follow signs for Drewsteignton.
The total journey is around 4 hours. Parking is available on site or in the village.
Great Western Railway runs regular services from London Paddington to Exeter St Davids (around 2 hours). From Exeter, it's a 30-minute drive or taxi ride to Drewsteignton.
We recommend taking a taxi to and from Drewsteignton, as everything is walkable once you are in the village. Car hire options may be limited.
For guests from overseas, we recommend flying to a London airport (e.g. Heathrow or Gatwick), and then connecting to Devon by car, coach or railway.
Car hire is readily available. To connect to the railway from Heathrow, take the Elizabeth line to London Paddington.
Drewsteignton is small, so accommodation within the village itself is limited. We strongly recommend booking as early as possible — summer weekends fill up fast across Devon.
Camping is available right by the venue with great amenities — Three Hares Campsite. Fall asleep under Devon skies and wake up exactly where the party was.

For something a little more comfortable, there are several hotels within easy reach of Drewsteignton. The Three Crowns and Mill End are both characterful options on the Dartmoor fringe; the Travelodge at Whiddon Down is a reliable budget option right off the A30.
We hope you'll be able to use the weekend to explore the beauty of Devon — Drewsteignton sits inside Dartmoor National Park, with dramatic moorland, ancient woodland and river valleys all within easy reach. We are also planning to organise a walk on Sunday 20th June that guests will be welcome to join, with details to follow nearer the time. In the meantime, here are a few things worth doing in the area.
Just a short drive from the village, Castle Drogo is one of England's most extraordinary National Trust properties — a granite castle perched dramatically above the Teign gorge, and the last castle to be built in England. Designed by Edwin Lutyens and completed in the 1930s, it was recently restored after a major project to fix its leaking roof. The gardens and views over the gorge are spectacular.
The nearby market town of Chagford is one of Dartmoor's prettiest, with an attractive square, independent shops, galleries and cafés. It's a lovely place to spend a morning browsing — pick up local produce, explore the bookshop, or settle in for a coffee. The drive through the lanes from Drewsteignton takes around fifteen minutes.
One of the most scenic walks in the area starts right from Drewsteignton and follows the wooded Teign gorge down to Fingle Bridge — a beautiful medieval packhorse bridge over the River Teign. The path winds through ancient oak woodland above the river, taking roughly an hour each way. The Fingle Bridge Inn sits right at the water's edge and is a very good reason to make it to the bottom.
For the more adventurous, a walk from Shilstone out to Kes Tor is one of the finest introductions to open Dartmoor — and Alice's favourite walk. Kes Tor is a commanding granite outcrop high above the North Teign valley, with sweeping views across the moor in every direction. The walk takes you through Gidleigh Wood and open moorland past ancient field systems and Bronze Age remains, and on a clear day the sense of space is extraordinary. Allow a couple of hours and wear sturdy footwear.
Come in whatever bright and summery clothes you feel comfortable and confident in. We'd love it if you wanted to try an Indian outfit — but there's absolutely no pressure. The most important thing is that you feel great. For the Mehndi on Friday evening, come as you are — no need to dress up.
Indian wedding guests typically wear vibrant, colourful clothing. For women, popular choices include sarees, salwar kameez (a tunic with trousers), and lehengas (a long skirt with a blouse). For men, a kurta (a long tunic, usually paired with trousers or churidar) is the most common choice — smart but relaxed.
Rich colours are encouraged. Traditionally, white and red are avoided at Indian weddings, but please don't let that stop you wearing what you love.

It's also well worth looking at second-hand and pre-loved options — Indian occasion wear is frequently listed on sites like Vinted, often barely worn and at a fraction of the original price. Sarees, lehengas, kurtas and suits can all turn up in excellent condition, and buying pre-loved is a more sustainable choice too.
Some of the best Indian clothing can be found on the high streets of British cities with a strong South Asian diaspora. If you're near one of these areas, it's well worth a browse — you'll find a far wider selection, better prices, and the advice of people who know the fabrics and styles inside out.
Notable areas include Southall (West London), Wembley and Harrow (North-West London), Green Street in East Ham (East London), Belgrave Road in Leicester, Rusholme in Manchester, and Soho Road in Birmingham's Handsworth. Most shops are happy to help with sizing and styling if you're new to Indian wear.
